Obituary: Martha Helen Box

 

Mrs. Martha Helen Box of Slocomb, passed away on September 30, 2024, at her home in Slocomb, surrounded by her loving family. She was 88.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, October 4, 2024 at Big Creek United Methodist Church with Rev. Phillip Barnes, Rev. Larry Newton, and Rev. Addis Habbard officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2024 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home from 6 to 8 PM.

Mrs. Box was born on March 30,1936 in Houston County to the late Benjamin Franklin Barnes and Willa Holloway Barnes. She always enjoyed in her free time genealogy.

In addition to her parents, two sisters, Mildred Mixon and Myra Helen Barnes; two brothers Milton Barnes, and Melvin Barnes proceeded her in death.

Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Raymond Box; one daughter: Kaye Box Watford, of Slocomb; son, Charles Micheal Box, of Slocomb; grandchild: Jacob Tanner Watford of Dothan; One brother: Mervin Barnes (Hazel), of Slocomb; Several nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
