Mrs. Mary Alice Hovey Johnson, a resident of Louisville, Alabama passed away Thursday, June 6, 2024, at Flowers Hospital in Dothan, Alabama. She was 77 years old.


Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 9, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. at Louisville Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Whitman officiating and Glover Funeral Home directing. Burial will follow in the Pine Level Baptist Church Cemetery. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Flowers will be accepted.


Mary Alice was born October 24, 1946, in Louisville, Alabama to the late Ralph Adam Sr. and Mary Charles Daughtry Hovey. She enjoyed gospel music, watching the Gaither Homecoming and game shows on television, sitting up town watching the daily traffic of Louisville, but most of all she loved her family and spending time with them. Mary Alice loved the Lord and was a faithful member of Louisville Baptist Church.


She is preceded in death by her husband, Foy Edward Price; daughter, Leslie Lea Price; granddaughter, Kandice Leigh Price; great-grandchild, baby Hurt; brother, Gene Hovey and his wife, Sarah.


Left to cherish her memories are her two children, Foy Tracy Price (Amy) of Clio, Alabama and Teresea Gail Baker (Kenneth) of Louisville, Alabama; three brothers, James Ellis Hovey (Mary), Ralph Adam Hovey Jr., and Billy Hovey; two sisters, Betty Grimm (Jim) and Glenda Clemmons (Jerrell); four grandchildren, Christopher Baker, Crystal Sweeney (William), Allan Christian (Imogene), and Jordan Borne (Kaitlyn); five great-grandchildren, Allie-Piper Christian, Ragan Christian, Sawyer Christian, Adeline Christian, and Olivia Borne.


Active pallbearers will be Wayne Stell, Conner Stell, Hayden Stell, Tommy Beaty, Gary Bowdoin, and Trip Horne.


Honorary pallbearer will be Larry Dykes.
