Mary Ella Cupper, a resident of Dothan, died Friday, July 12, 2024 at her residence. She was 91.


Graveside services will be held Thursday, July 18, 2024 at 10 AM at Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, Florida with Forest Lero officiating.


Mrs. Cupper was born June 7, 1933 in Kemper County, Mississippi to the late Winfred and Hautence Jones. She graduated from Meridian Senior High School in May of 1951. Mrs. Cupper retired as a Medical Secretary from the Naval Hospital in Pensacola. She had a love for people and benevolent heart and often gave to her neighbors and people in need. Mrs. Cupper crocheted and made over 300 Baby Bootys and blankets for Wiregrass Hope Group. She was a member of Cloverdale Baptist church.


Mrs. Cupper is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Roy H. Cupper;  brother, R.L. Jones and three sisters, Faye Barnes, Rae Pool and Martha McDonald..


Survivors include her children, Roy Cupper (Jayme), Carol Lero (Forest) and Patricia Bailey; grandchildren, John Lero, Charity Ferguson, Matthew Lero, Tricia Stuart, Chad Bailey, Joshua Bailey, Cassie Cupper and Cayden Cupper; fourteen great grandchildren.
