Mrs. Mary Merle Peacock, age 77, of Enterprise and formerly of Slocomb passed away Saturday, March 21, 2015 after an extended illness.



Born October 23, 1937 in Geneva County to the late Wyatt E. and Algenorah Jones Smith, Mrs. Peacock was a member of Hartford Baptist Church. She will be remembered as a loving and caring person who enjoyed and loved her children and grandchildren.




In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Herman Smith, Jerry Smith, Clarence Smith, and Durl Smith.




Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Harold G. Peacock; her daughter, Cynthia (William) Boyd; her son, Michael Scott (Jean) Peacock, Sr.; her sisters, Martha (Adam) Keller and Christine Knight; her grandchildren, Jennifer Maki, Richard Maki, Lauren (Phillip) Martin, Kate Peacock, and Michael Peacock, Jr.; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.




Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Thursday, March 26, 2015 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Bruce Spivey and Reverend Moody Faulk officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 5 PM until 8 PM, Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at the Ward Wilson Funeral Home.




In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Hartford Baptist Church, 105 East Burch Street, Hartford, AL  36344.
