CLIO……… Mrs. Maudie Patterson Gibson, a resident of Clio, died late Wednesday morning, January 1, 2020 surrounded by her loving family at her home. She was 91.
Homegoing services will be 12:00 Noon Saturday, January 4, 2019 in the Clio First Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Fred Gray officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 5:30 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to Clio First Missionary Baptist Church, 3388 Elamville St., Clio, Alabama 36017.
Mrs. Gibson, daughter of the late Dave Patterson and Mary Kelly Patterson, was a native and lifelong resident of Clio. She was an active member of the Clio First Missionary Baptist Church having participated in all church functions. Mrs. Gibson will always be remembered for her loving care shown to her community. She was employed with the Easterling Family in Clio for over sixty years. Mrs. Gibson was preceded in death by her husband, Lamar Gibson, Sr.; two daughters, Edna Harris and Ruth Taylor; two sons, Roy Gibson and Limmie Gibson, and all her sisters and brothers.
Surviving relatives include her daughter, Alice Jackson (Herman), Ozark; her son, Lamar Gibson, Jr., Clio; twenty-two grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of SouthernCare Hospice for their loving care and kindness shown to Mrs. Gibson and her family.
