Mrs. Merkis Colliard Hall Tallent of Dothan, passed away Saturday, August 19, 2012, at her residence. She was 80.
Funeral services will be held at 10 A.M. Tuesday, August 21, 2012, at Faith Tabernacle with Reverends Markus Ramor and T.P. Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.
The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 P.M. Monday, August 20, 2012. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Macular Degeneration.
Mrs. Tallent was born April 27, 1932, in Opp, Alabama. She was a member of Faith Tabernacle. She enjoyed fishing and gardening, but most of all she loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Louis Hall and Jewel Mae Kyser Hall, brother, Robert Hall, and two sisters, Etoil Cross and Anovil Kendall.
Survivors include her husband, Billy Tallent of Dothan; daughter, Teresa Mixon and her husband, Phillip of Spanish Fort, AL; step-daughter, Jean Barrett and her husband, Ray of Little Rock, AK; sons, Greg Tallent, Sr. and his wife, Lawana of Dothan; Vernon Cain and his wife, Mia of Ozark, AL; step-sons, Baron Ray Tallent and his wife, Sandy of Pine Bluff, AK; Steve Tallent and his wife, Lisa of Little Rock, AK; sister, Sheila Spivey and her husband, Charles of Dothan; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Sexton, Billy Kendall, Ryan Lewis, Phillip Mixon, Jimmy Prather, and Gregory Tallent, II.
