Obituary: Mrs. Mildred Folk Marshall
Mrs. Mildred Folk Marshall of Dothan passed away Sunday, August 20, 2017 at Bonifay Nursing Home. She was 76.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory in Slocomb with Rev. Josh Hodge officiating. Burial will follow in Piney Grove Assembly of God Church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, beginning at 10:00 a.m. and continue until service time.
Mrs. Marshall was born June 10, 1941 in Marlboro County, South Carolina to the late Frank and Ruby Inez Rogers Folk. Mildred enjoyed spending time at the Senior Citizens Center in Madrid playing board and card games. She loved flowers, gardening and fishing. She was a good listener, loving mother and adoring grandmother and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed.
In addition to her parents, her husband, Welton Bill Marshall; sisters: Catherine Pruitt, Peggy James, Doris Brigman and Mary Lois Folk; brothers: Everett Folk, Lester Folk and Floyd Folk all preceded her in death.
Survivors include daughters: Sheila Bass (Scott), Dothan, Debe Miller (Joe), Bonifay FL and Pam McElroy (William), Dothan; step-daughters: Sheila Quinn (Jerry), Buffalo, NY and Karen Marshall, Thermopolis, WY; grandchildren: David Lockard (Kiersan), Lampasas, TX, Gretchen Peoples (Troy), Bonifay, FL, Cody McElroy and Bill McElroy both of Dothan; four great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
