Mrs. Mildred Louise Whitehead of Ashford passed away Thursday, May 2, 2013, at the Southeast Alabama Medical Center.

 

Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. Saturday, May 4, 2013, at Antioch Baptist Church with Reverends Greg Aman and John Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.

 

The family will be receiving friends at the church from 2 to 3 P.M. Saturday, May 4, 2013, one hour prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to Antioch Baptist Church.

 

Mrs. Whitehead was a faithful member of Antioch Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School in the Children’s Department for many years. She also worked at Ronnie’s Men’s and Boy’s for over 30 years.

 

She is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, James Lamar Whitehead.

 

Survivors include son, Ronnie Whitehead and his wife, Lisa of Ashford; daughter, Deborah Wright of Headland;  sister, Eilene Dekle and her husband, Littleton of Ashford; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and brother-in-law, Bobby Kennedy and his wife, Ann.
