Milera B. Rabon, 87, widow of William Lee Rabon, passed away, Saturday, August 30, 2014, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 2, 2014 in Clearman Chapel at Southern Heritage Funeral Home with Reverend Robert Hamilton officiating. Burial will follow in Hartford City Cemetery with Southern Heritage Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Tuesday prior to funeral service. At other times the family will be at the home of a daughter, Scott and Marcia Whatley.
Flowers are accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Covenant Hospice, 2855 Ross Clark Circle, Suite 110, Dothan, Alabama 36301.
Serving as active pallbearers are Dave Norsworthy, Jonathan Walley, Kevin Bravo, Kevin Broadhead, Earl Starling and Tommy Starling.
Honorary pallbearers are Aaron Rabon and Steve Sikes.
Born in Needham, Alabama, Milera was a daughter of the late Buford Earl and Annie Luker Broadhead. She worked in the grocery business for IGA Stores in Mobile, Alabama for several years prior to her retirement and is a member of the Abundant Life Assembly of God Church.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne (Jackie) Rabon¸ Franklin Vermont and Warner (Barbara) Rabon Midland City, Alabama; three daughters and sons-in-law, Linda Taylor, Dothan, Alabama, Ginger (Mike) Byers, Dothan, Alabama, and Marcia (Scott) Whatley, Cowarts, Alabama; eight grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren; a brother, Noah Broadhead, Surprise, Arizona; two sisters, Joyce Hendrick, and Diahn Potthoff, both of San Leon, Texas.
