BELL’S CROSSROADS COMMUNITY…Mrs. Molly Johnston Bell, a resident of the Bells Crossroads Community, near Echo, went home to be with the Lord on Monday morning, April 4, 2022, at her home. She was 87.


             Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M. Thursday, April 7, 2022, at Wesley Chapel Community Church with the Rev. Phil Craddock, Rev. Scott Ellis, and Klint Kosier officiating.  Burial will follow in the Bell’s Crossroads Cemetery with Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home directing.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Thursday at the church. 


Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to Bell’s Crossroads Cemetery Fund, in care of John William Bell, 8510 County Road 54, Skipperville, AL 36374.


Molly, the daughter of the late Henry Clayton Johnston and Mary Belle Stephens Johnston was born December 17, 1934, in Dale County.  In 1951, she married John Simon Bell.  She was an active member of Wesley Chapel Community Church.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John Simon, her daughter Carolyn Ann Killingsworth, five brothers and five sisters.  Molly leaves to treasure her memories, three sons, John William Bell and wife, Cheryl, of Bell’s Crossroads, AL, Ron Bell and wife, Sidonna of Helotes, TX, and Jeff Bell of Bell’s Crossroads, AL; six grandchildren, Clay Killingsworth and wife, Michelle, of Canterbury, CT, Gina Killingsworth Perdue and husband, Jason of Enterprise, AL, Amy Killingsworth McMarlin and husband, Clint of Anchorage, AK, Amber Bell Kosier and husband, Klint, of Midland, TX, Breanna Bell Ellis and husband, Scott, of Tulsa, OK, Matthew Simon Bell and wife, Maegan of Bell’s Crossroads, AL.  Molly is also survived by twenty great grandchildren and one great great grandson, and a host of family and friends.


Molly retired from Wex-Tex of Headland, Incorporated after 26 years of distinguished service.  She had a second career with the Ozark City School System, where she retired after over a decade of service.  In addition to being active in her church, Molly enjoyed investing time with family, cooking, gardening, and traveling.  She traveled extensively throughout the United States.  She also enjoyed travel to England, Scotland, France, Canada, Mexico and Wales. 


The family would like to express our deepest gratitude to the Encompass Hospice Staff for the care and compassion they provided to our mother over the past few months.  We would also like to thank the many friends and family who expressed their love through prayers, visits, cards, flowers and food.
