Mrs. Myrtice Miller of Samson passed away at Wiregrass Rehabilitation Center on Tuesday, November 1, 2011. She was 88. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 4, 2011 at Harvest Time Pentecostal Church with Reverends Scotty Troublefield, Jack Chancey and Mike Medley officiating. Burial will follow in Piney Grove Assembly of God Church with Pittman Funeral Home of Samson directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, November 3, 2011 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. At all other times, the family will gather at the home of her son,
Michael Miller.
Mrs. Miller was born in Coffee County, AL on October 8, 1923 to the late to the late Walker Warr and Minerva Adkison Warr. She attended Goodman School. She married Cecil Miller in 1941. They made their home in Samson where they lived their entire lives. She and Mr. Miller established Miller Roofing Co. which is still in existence today. Mrs. Miller was a devoted housewife, and she loved her flowers. She was an avid reader and cherished her Sunday School class at Harvest Time Assembly of God Church. She was a wonderful singer and guitar player. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Miller; three brothers, James Warr, Jeff Warr and Bill Warr; two sisters, Lela McCullough and Lula Mae Eldridge; and her grandson, Dwayne Linton.
She is survived by her daughter, Louise Linton (James B); son, Michael Miller (Ann), all of Samson; four grandchildren, Pam Miller of Prattville, Shane Miller, Sharon Linton and Diane Brewer (Rick), all of Samson; five great grandchildren, Niki Linton-Catrett, Zach Alford, both of Samson, Mason
Williams of Prattville, Christa Miller and Olivia Miller, both of Samson; numerous nieces and nephews and many special friends.
