Naomi Grace O’Brien passed away Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at Robertsdale Healthcare in Robertsdale, Alabama. Grace is a native of Dothan, Alabama and was 82.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 27, 2014 at 2 pm in the Clearman Chapel at Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Dothan, Alabama with Reverend Kyle Gatlin officiating. Burial will follow in Dothan City Cemetery with Southern Heritage Funeral Home directing. The family will receive visitors prior to the service beginning at 1 pm at the funeral home.
In her earlier years, Grace worked for the First National Bank of Dothan, was a Girl Scout leader and a member of the Charter Board of Houston Academy. She was an avid golfer and bridge player, and in her later years became interested in pet adoption. Grace lived a spirited life and kept her mischievous humor until her last days.
She is predeceased by her husband of 43 years, Robert Tate O’Brien; her parents, Oma Woodham McClenny and Lee Jefferson McClenny, and her brother, Alfred Guy McClenny.
She is survived by her brother, Gaston Lee McClenny and his wife, Francis McClenny of Charleston, South Carolina; her two daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy O’Brien McCrory and Marcus McCrory of Daphne, Alabama, Patti O’Brien Wood and Seaborn Whatley Wood, III of Dothan; her six grandchildren, Annie O’Brien Woods and husband Theodore John (Ted) Balicki, IV of Nashville, Tennessee, Brannon Tate Skillern and her husband John Skillern of Brooklyn, NY, Jackson Frederick Woods of Mobile, Alabama, Seaborn Whatley Wood, IV, and wife, Alexis Fowler Wood, Taten O’Brien Wood and his wife, Heather Peoples Wood, and Grayson Lee Wood all of Dothan; and two great grandchildren, Theodore John (Teddy) Balicki, V of Nashville, Tennessee and Kayden Elizabeth Martin of Dothan, Alabama.
Pallbearers are Seaborn Whatley Wood, IV, Jackson Frederick Woods, Taten O’Brien Wood, Grayson Lee Wood, Theodore (Ted) John Balicki, Mike O’Brien, and Gary Cox.
