Mrs. Nelma Grace Hanners Glover, age 80, a resident of Dothan died early Wednesday July 16, 2014 at her residence following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday July 19, 2014 at the Glover Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Terry Glover officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery near Newton with Kendall Glover of Glover Funeral Home directing.
The family will be receiving friends on Friday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Glover Funeral Home. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 3054 McGehee Rd., Montgomery, AL. 36111.
Mrs. Glover was born on February 12, 1934 in Wicksburg the daughter of Duke Royce Hanners and Alma Odell Threatt Hanners. She was a 1952 Graduate of Wicksburg High School and she and her husband were part of the group that organized the Wicksburg Fire Department. Mrs. Glover was a homemaker and worked for a number of years as a substitute teacher at Wicksburg High School. She loved shopping and was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Newton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Melba Hatton Spears and a brother Royce Hanners.
Survivors include: Husband of 60 years, Gwen Glover, Dothan; daughter, Gale Glover Munro (John), Baytown, TX; son, Gary Glover (Beth), Enterprise; granddaughter, Kristin Munro Cooper (Robert), Baytown, TX; grandson, Ryan Munro (Tyler), Nederland, TX; grandson, Logan Glover, Enterprise; great-grandson, Matthew Cooper, Baytown, TX; sister, Sybil Alley, Arcadia, FL; several nieces and nephews.
Active pallbearers will be: Ryan Munro, Jonathan Wheeless, Erik Vogt, Logan Glover, Jason Strickland, Slade Glover, Robert Cooper, and Timothy Alley.
Glover Funeral Home of Dothan has been entrusted with the arrangements.
