OZARK…Nettie June Cline Reed, an esteemed and beloved member of the community, has passed away at the age of 88 in Ozark, Alabama. She was born on April 1, 1935, in Amigo, West Virginia to Kelly Cline and Mary Elizabeth Christian Cline. June was a devoted wife of sixty-five years to her late husband, Waldo Lee Reed.
Nettie June’s professional life was marked by dedication and passion. She spent over twenty years serving as the Lead cafeteria worker for Raleigh County High School in West Virginia before retiring from her position. Her unwavering commitment to nourishing both bodies and souls left an indelible mark on the lives of countless students and colleagues.
However, Nettie June’s impact reached far beyond the confines of the cafeteria walls. She was a woman of many talents and interests. In her leisure time, she found solace in completing puzzles and delving into crime and detective books. Known for her poetic spirit, June wrote and sang numerous religious songs at various churches, touching hearts with her melodious voice and profound lyrics. She attended Campground Baptist Church and Harvest Free Will Baptist Church, both in Ozark.
On Sunday, October 29, 2023, at 2:30 P.M., family, friends, and members of the community will gather to honor June’s remarkable journey at a Celebration of Life ceremony in the Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Tim Bates officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:30 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.
Nettie June Reed’s absence creates a void that can never be filled; however, she leaves behind cherished relationships with loved ones who will carry her memory forever. Her daughter Sherry Bonds is joined by her devoted husband Gerald in mourning their loss. To add to June’s legacy are also her beloved granddaughter Amber Jardno along with her husband Jason, as well as her great-grandchildren Gavin Jardno and Kylee Jardno.
Nettie June’s passing is also deeply felt by her nieces and nephews: George Bernard Adkins and wife Cathy, Paul Adkins and wife, Vada, Anthony Reed, Pauline McKinney, and Shirley Forbes. Their grief is shared by all who knew June, as her warm heart touched many lives over the years.
Nettie June Reed’s life was a testament to resilience, compassion, and unwavering faith. She will forever be remembered as a beacon of light in the lives she touched. Her loss is mourned deeply, but her spirit will live on in the memories of those fortunate enough to have known her.
