Nola Elmore Whitehead, a resident of Cottonwood, died Thursday March 3, 2016 at her residence. She was 90.
Funeral services for Mrs. Whitehead will be held at 2:30 PM Sunday, March 6, 2016 in Clearman Chapel at Southern Heritage with Dr. Ricky Plummer and Reverend John Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Enon Church of Christ cemetery with Southern Heritage directing. The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM until 2:15 PM prior to the services at the funeral home.
Mrs. Whitehead was born January 25, 1926 in Houston County to the late Glen and Doxie Cutchins Elmore. She was a seamstress at Wex-Tex for many years and had a love for quilting. Mrs. Whitehead was a dedicated, loving and hard working mother who enjoyed working in her yards and fishing. She was a member at Enon Church of Christ.
Mrs. Whitehead is preceded in death by her husband, Crosher L. Whitehead; grandson, Michael Whitehead; three sisters and a brother.
Survivors include two daughters and a son in law, Myrl McCord, Cottonwood, Qualeen and Jack Grace, St. Joseph, LA; two sons and daughters in law, Will and Kathy Whitehead, Artis and Diane Whitehead, all of Cottonwood; grandchildren, Jeffrey and Lindsay McCord, Dennis and Natalie McCord, Paul and Lisa Grace, Kevin and Nicole Grace, Travis Grace, Nick Whitehead, Christie and Lance Junkin, Shaylee and Randy Meadows, Celena and Robbie Morris, Anna and Keith Turner, Katherine Whitehead and Ben Whitehead; several great grandchildren; two brothers, Kenny Gene Elmore, Ladon and Judith Elmore; three sisters, Doris Granger, Thedus and Tommy Womack and Bobie Ann Croom.
