Mrs. Odell Mauldin of Geneva, Alabama went home to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday, October 7, 2014, with her loving family by her side. She was 85.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 10, 2014 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. Ricky Hall and Bro. Zack Dodson officiating. Burial will follow in the Burns Church Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home and Crematory of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, October 9, 2014 from 6 until 8 p.m. At all other times the family will be at the home of a grandson, Tony (Heather) Pellot, 120 Lakewood Loop, Geneva.
Mrs. Mauldin was born April 27, 1929, in Geneva County, Alabama. She loved helping people and touched many lives in many different ways. During her working career she enjoyed being a healthcare provider. Mrs. Mauldin always had a smile and processed a very kind and caring spirit. For more than 60 years, she was a member of the original Burns Assembly of God Church in Slocomb.
Mrs. Mauldin was preceded in death by her mother and step father, Myrtie Hall Skipper and her husband Van; her husband, Daniel Ray Mauldin; one great-granddaughter, Taylor Leighann Mauldin; four brothers and one sister.
Survivors include three children: Patricia (Angelo) Pellot of Geneva, Dannie (Dianne) Mauldin of Slocomb, and Eleanor (Ronnie) Peterson of Hartford; five grandchildren: Lynn (Robert) Land of Hartford, Tony (Heather) Pellot of Geneva, Jeremy Mauldin of Kentucky, Chris (Tori) Mauldin and David Mauldin, all of Slocomb; 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, Jimmy Dee Skipper and one sister, Carrie Smith, both of Slocomb; a number of very special brothers and sisters-in-law who were very close to her; several nieces, nephews and other extended family which include the staff and residents at Hartford Healthcare.
