OZARK…Mrs. Onita Peacock Walker, a resident of Ozark, died early Friday morning, August 18, 2023, in Dale Medical Center. She was 66.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, August 21, 2023, in The River of Ozark Church, in the Klondyke Hill Community, near Ozark, with Pastor Joshua Fischer officiating. Burial will follow in Gospel to the Nations Church Cemetery in Newton, near Pinckard. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. on Monday at the church.
Mrs. Walker, daughter of the late Joseph Benny Peacock and Willie Mae Messick Peacock, was a native of Midland City and moved to Ozark in 1974. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved and supported her family. Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by her sister, Kathleen Driver and a son-in-law, Keith Arnette.
Surviving relatives include her husband of forty-nine years, Gerald Walker, Ozark; two daughters, Kim Arnette, Ozark and Angela Lawson (Jason), Ariton; her son, Jason Walker (Krissy), Ozark; her sister, Patricia Sherman (Steven Devore), Ozark; a brother, Stevie Messick, Ozark; grandchildren, Destiny Walker, Jessica Arnette, Brianna Lawson, Travis Walker, Brittany Lawson, Michael Arnette, Jaden Lawson, and Hannah K. Lawson; nieces, nephews, and many friends.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Dale Medical Center for their loving care shown to Mrs. Walker and her family. The staff will always be her “little angels”.
