Mrs. Opal Eloise Richard, age 75, died Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at her residence surrounded by her family.


A memorial service and burial at sea will be held on April 20, 2017 in Panama City Beach.


In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Research, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN, 38105 or [email protected]. Condolences can be mailed to 503 2nd Ave., Ashford, AL, 36312.


Mrs. Richard was born on July 25, 1941 in Caryville, Florida to Grady C. and Claudie Gilley Brown.  She retired as a teller from the banking industry.  She was of Baptist faith and loved the Lord.


Mrs. Richard was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Charles Brown.


Survivors include two sons:  Robert Jett (Mary), Nashville, TN, and Mike Kapper, Dothan, AL; one daughter:  Cindi Sykes, Tampa, FL; grandchild:  Airianna Sykes, Panama City Beach, FL; three sisters; Jackie Strickland, Jean Rich and Dot Hutching, of Bonifay, FL.
