Mrs. Ozie Lynn died on Friday, June 22, 2018, at Extendicare Health and Rehabilitative Services after a short illness. She was 96 years old.


Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Monday, June 25, 2018 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Tim Willis officiating. Burial will follow in the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Pansey, AL with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.


The family will receive friends at the funeral home at 1:00 P.M. Monday, one hour prior to the service.


Mrs. Lynn was born on February 17, 1922 to parents, Tom Warren and ElNora White McNeese. She grew up in the Ashford area and was a 1941 graduate of Ashford High School. On September 10, 1947, she married Quentin Lynn. In July 1956, they bought a house in Dothan. It was in this house that they raised their three children and was her home for 60 years. Mrs. Lynn was an avid gardener taking pride each summer in the tomatoes she grew. She loved sharing her garden’s bounty with friends and family. Throughout her adult life she also embroidered many beautiful pieces of handwork.


Mrs. Lynn was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church where she worked in the nursery for over 25 years. She was known as “Miss Bunnie” to the children she kept.


She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brothers, Lester, Travis and Otis McNeese.


Mrs. Lynn is survived by her children, Barbara (Joe) Thornton, Michael (Marsha) Lynn, and Quinn (David) Mauldin, her grandchildren, Garret (Rebekah) Thornton, Cade (Sharon) Thornton, Josh (Emily) Mauldin, Bernard “Nardo” Karabin and Natalie Lurie, and great-grandchildren, Kameron Hunter, Ethan Thornton, Liam Thornton and Alyssa and Jackson Mauldin, and several nieces and nephews also survive.


The family wishes to thank the staff of Whitehall Assisted Living, Extendicare Health and Rehabilitative Services, and Kindred Hospice for their kindness to and care of Mrs. Lynn.
