FT. WALTON BEACH, FL…Pearl Tharpe Asodi passed away peacefully at home Tuesday evening, March 22, 2022, in Ft. Walton Beach, surrounded by her family, at the age of 78.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, March 27, 2022, in the Mabson United Methodist Church with Reverend Phill Craddock officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 2:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. at the church.
Pearl was born August 10, 1943, to William and Estelle Tharpe of Ozark, Alabama. She married the late Mike Asodi in 1960 and was the proud mother of her two children. Pearl was a lifelong Christian and had an amazing love for the Lord. She was also a lifetime cosmetologist. She owned and operated Pearl’s Beauty Salon in Skipperville, Alabama until 1996. In 1997, Pearl moved to Fort Walton Beach, Florida to be closer to family. She was a resident of Bob Hope Village and Theresa Village, where she had many friends and was always a joy to her neighbors. She adored and was loved by her four grandchildren. Pearl was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Gladys Tharpe Downs, Nina Sue Tharpe Solomon, Joanne Tharpe Ingram, and brother, Travis Tharpe.
Pearl is survived by two children, Mike Andrew Asodi of Dothan, Alabama and Angela Asodi Beeton of Fort Walton Beach, Florida; her three sisters, Dorothy Kelly of Huntsville, Alabama, Christine Smith of Clarksville, Tennessee, Sheila Tyree of Weaver, Alabama; brother, Norman Tharpe of Ozark, Alabama, four grandchildren, Bobby Beeton, Tori Asodi, Travis Beeton, and Micheal Asodi. With such a large family, Pearl was loved by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
