Obituary: Mrs. Peggy Janice Burdeshaw
Mrs. Peggy Janice Burdeshaw of Slocomb went home to be with the Lord Thursday, July 6, 2017 at her home. She was 77.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, July 10, 2017 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory in Slocomb with Rev. Coley M. Holloway and Rev. Larry Newton officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to service time.
Mrs. Burdeshaw was born December 29, 1939 in Geneva County to the late John Hubert and Ethel Mae Wright Dean. She was the strongest, wisest woman we have ever known. She taught us to love, to believe in Jesus and in ourselves; to be strong and live a life of love and happiness. She taught us how to be a parent just by how she raised us. We love you Mama and we are at peace knowing you are with Jesus, but our hearts ache today. We long to hug you one last time. To feel your hand in ours.
In addition to her parents, her first husband and the father of her children, Johnny Mack Burdeshaw; her second husband, James Earl Carroll; and one brother, John Earl Dean preceded her in death.
Survivors include two daughters: Allison Wells (Bobby), Clayhatchee and Renee Pickle (Mike), Lynn Haven, FL; two sons: Alan Burdeshaw, Fadette and Greg Burdeshaw (Wendy), Slocomb; grandchildren: Jason Burdeshaw, Joshua Burdeshaw, Hannah Burdeshaw, Scottie Burdeshaw (Brittany), J.C. Burdeshaw, Cameron Wells (Ashley), Alli Wells, Emily Pickle and Jacob Pickle; two great-grandchildren: Marlie Caballero and Cason Wells; sisters: Genny Smith, Doris Sorrells, Carolyn Lasseter and Bobbie Mayo; several nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
