NEWTON…Mrs. Penny Jones Barnes, a resident of Newton, died late Wednesday evening, July 27, 2022, at her home. She was 60.


            Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, July 30, 2022, in the Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Kenneth Bohannon officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.


            Mrs. Barnes was born August 7, 1961, in Dothan, Alabama. She was formerly employed at the Petro in Grimes and formerly worked at Wayne Farms as a security guard. Mrs. Barnes attended Rainbow Meadows Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking, drawing, coloring and spoiling her grandchildren. Mrs. Barnes was preceded in death by her father, J.P. Jones; a sister, Peggy Davis; grandmother, Irell Ramage and an aunt, Wanda Johnston.


            Surviving relatives include her daughter, Victoria Bradshaw, newton; a son, Nick Fulford, Grimes, Alabama; her mother, Joann Chason; four brothers, Roger Jones, Bobby Jones, Lewis Jones, and Johnny Jones, all of Dothan; grandchildren, Alton, Bradshaw, Matthew Bradshaw, Tennie Bradshaw, Andrew James Bradshaw, JT Bradshaw, Hunter Fulford, Nathan Fulford, Addi Vickery, Justin Stroud, and Shawna Mixon; her precious cat, Boots; many nieces and nephews.
