Mrs. Phyllis Ann Barnes Cheek, age 72 of Midland City passed away Sunday, April 5, 2015.


 


Born December 7, 1942 in Middlesboro, Kentucky to the late Lawrence and Dolly Ann Gray, Mrs. Cheek was a member of New Hope Freewill Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and taking pictures.


 


In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Barnes; her daughters, Loretta Barnes and Jill Barnes; her sisters, Juanita, Jewel, Nadine, and Ruth; and her brothers, Ray, Milford, and William.


 


Survivors include her husband, James Cheek; her daughter, Patricia (Ben) Morrow; her sons, Jimmy (Tami) Barnes and Chip (Sandy) Gaier; her sister, Nina; her brothers, Howard and Elmer; her grandchildren, Jamie Barnes, Jill Barnes, Cody Morrow, Jeana Brewer, and a host of other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.


 


Funeral services will be held at 10 AM, Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jeff Lunsford officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 6 PM until 8 PM, Monday, April 6, 2015 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home.


 


The family will be accepting flowers.
