Phyllis Joan Mann, a resident of Dothan, died Monday, August 20, 2012 at the Southeast Alabama Medical Center. She was 77.

Visitation honoring Mrs. Mann’s life will be held Thursday, August 23, 2012 from 2 PM until 4 PM and from 6 PM until 8 PM at Southern Heritage Funeral Home. Memorial services for Mrs. Mann will be held at 2 PM Friday, August 24, 2012 at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church with Dr. Bradley Rushing officiating.

Mrs. Mann was born July 2, 1935 in New Castle, Pennsylvania to Joseph and Margaret Shira Fullwood. She was retired from the Broward County Sherriff’s Department as a Banking Clerk. Mrs. Mann was a loving mother and grandmother with a generous and giving nature as evidenced by her life. She loved to sing and was an active member at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church.

Mrs. Mann is preceded in death by her parents; sister and three brothers.

Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Bob Mann, Dothan, Alabama; two sons, Robert W. Mann (Maggie), Rehobeth, Alabama,  Ralph A. Baughman, New Castle, PA; three daughters, Peggy McAnlis, New Wilmington, PA, Sarah Fryman-Smolinski (Leonard), Ozark, Alabama,  Debbie Mattingly (Terry), Gainesville, FL; 14 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; sisters, Lillian Tanney, Dothan, Alabama and Margaret Waldron (John), Barberton, OH.
