 HOMER GLEN, IL…  Mrs. Ruby S. Nix, a resident of Homer Glen, Illinois (formerly of Ozark), died Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at the home of her daughter. She was 90.


            Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 13, 2021 in the Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Dr. Scott E. Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.


            Mrs. Nix, daughter of the late Oscar Dewey Sweatt and Hazel Easter Northcutt McGough, was a native of Walker County. She moved to Ozark in 1981 and was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church. Mrs. Nix formerly lived in Madison, Alabama before moving to Homer Glen, Illinois in 2016. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Lawrence N. Atkins and Henry E. “Hank” Nix (CWO4, U.S. Army, Retired); a brother, Kenneth McGough.


            Surviving relatives include her daughter, Patricia Mori (John), Homer Glen, IL; son, Ron Atkins, Rockwall, TX; her sister, Shirley Guthrie, Nauvoo, AL; three brothers, Robert McGough (Emma), Nauvoo, AL, Ralph McGough (Sandy), Clanton, AL and Jerry McGough (Patsy), Madison, AL; sister-in-law, Pat McGough, Nauvoo, AL; grandchildren, Susan and Erik Mori, and Jennifer Deardorff,; great-grandchildren, Thomas, Shannon, Brooklyn, Lauren, and Ryleigh.
