Ruthie Nell Cox, a resident of Cottonwood, Alabama died peacefully Thursday, March 28, 2024, at her home. She was 82.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2PM, Monday, April 1, 2024, in Clearman Chapel at Southern Heritage Funeral Home.
Ruthie was born to the late RL and Esther McCall on August 31, 1941, in Slocomb, Alabama. She was a member of Love Hill Church and a very loving, God-fearing women. Ruthie loved people and enjoyed taking care of them in their time of need. Her hobbies included going on walks, even if it was just down the driveway, working in her garden and taking care of her plants and flowers, taking care of her many birdhouses, making sure her hummingbirds had plenty to eat, and staying in the kitchen cooking up something good to eat. She was a very spirited and positive lady, always waking up every day with a smile on her face. Ruthie loved to tell happy memories from when she grew up and how she missed her late husband that she has now been reunited with. She will be dearly missed by all who loved and knew her.
She is preceded in death by her husband, J.W. Cox; her parents and ten siblings.
Left to cherish her memories are her two sons, Doug Kimble and Billy Kimble; a daughter-in-law, Amanda Kimble (Raymond Hoskinson); five grandchildren, Charae Coe (Mitchell), Kyle Kimble (Traci), Alex Crase, Cody Crase, and Jacob Crase (Madison); four great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and many friends.
