Mrs. Sally Kirkland Thornton passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2012, at Signature Healthcare in Graceville, FL. She was 85.

 

Graveside services will be held at 11 A. M. Friday, November 2, 2012 at the Beulah Cemetery on Old Headland Highway, with Reverend Coley Holloway officiating, Ward Wilson Funeral Home Directing.

 

The family will be receiving friends at the graveside from 10 until 11 A. M. prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to Gentiva Hospice, P.O. Drawer 2127, Dothan, Al 36302.

 

Mrs. Thornton was born in Houston County on September 24, 1926, and was raised in the Webb Community. She has lived in the Cottonwood area since 1967 and was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and a member of the Prime Timers Organization.

 

She is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband of 36 years, Charles F. Thornton, two brothers and one sister.

 

Survivors include one sister; Marie De’Francis of New Jersey; two sisters-in-law; Willa Rea Thornton and Gail Thornton, several nieces and nephews
