Mrs. Sara Kate Cheshire Wells of Dothan passed away Saturday, August 31, 2024, at Wesley Place on Honeysuckle.  She was 90.


Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at Taylor Assembly of God Church with Rev. James Register officiating and Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing.  Interment will follow at the church cemetery.


The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday one hour prior to service time.


Mrs. Wells was born January 6, 1934, in Houston County to the late Jack and Estelle Branton Cheshire. Sara was a great woman of faith and member of Taylor Assembly of God Church.  She enjoyed traveling, loved her children, and adored her grandchildren.


In addition to her parents, her husband of 64 years, RT "Junior" Wells, and a brother, Travis Cheshire, all preceded her in death.


Survivors include two sons: Billy Wells (Sue) and Mark Wells (Joy); six grandchildren: Aaron Wells (Jennifer), Hanna Golson (Brock), Sarah Beth Kaufman (Patrick), Laura Arnold (John), Suzannah Driver (Joe), and Summer Moore (Tim); fifteen great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
