Mrs. Selma Branton Kornegay, a resident of Taylor, passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2018. She was 94.
Born February 9, 1924 in Houston County to the late Jim and Pliner Branton, Mrs. Kornegay was a member of Taylor Assembly of God Church. She was the last charter member of Taylor Assembly of God Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and fishing.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, J. W. Kornegay.
She is survived by her daughters, Naomi Burkett (Burt), Katie Sullivan, Jennie Branton, and Audrey McNeal (Edward); her sister, Eloise Tindell (David); her brothers, Elijah Branton (Jackie) and James Branton (Geraldine); seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Friday, April 13, 2018 from Taylor Assembly of God Church with Reverend Kenneth Martin officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends Thursday, April 12, 2018 from 5 PM until 7 PM at Ward Wilson Funeral Home.
The family will be accepting flowers.
