Mrs. Shirley Ann Smith of Dothan passed away Saturday, December 9, 2023 at the age of 80.
Funeral services will be held at 1 P.M. Friday, December 15, 2023 at Rehobeth Baptist Church with Reverend Chad Hixon officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.
The family will receive friends at the church on Friday, December 15, 2023, one hour prior to the service. Flower will be accepted or contributions may be made to Future Now Building at Rehobeth Baptist Church.
Shirley was a special, sweet and beautiful lady with a beautiful smile that could light up a room when she walked in. She love her Lord, her family, her church family, and Sunday School class. She worked in retail for several years as a cashier at K-Mart, Howard’s and Gaylord’s Department Stores. She also sold Tupperware. She loved sharing her faith in her Lord with everyone she met and could strike up a conversation with anyone. Her favorite things to do were reading, praying, listening to Gospel music and doing sign language to it, watching the Hallmark Channel and sitting on the porch to watch the birds and squirrels.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Claudia Holland, her husband, Coy Smith, and sisters, Morrell Morgan and Nancy Griffith.
She is survived by her son, David Smith (Diane), sister, Frances Martin (Clarence), granddaughter, Amanda Holland (Ken), three great-grandchildren, Jordyn Hatcher (Isaac), Zane Holland (Elizabeth), Jennica Cowen (Kennedy), and two great-great-grandchildren, Kelley Holland and Parker J. Cowen.
Pallbearers will be the Rehobeth Baptist Church Deacons.
