DOTHAN… Mrs. Shirley Anne Clark Aley, a resident of Dothan, died early Tuesday morning, June 30, 2020 at Ozark Health & Rehabilitation Center. She was 87.
In keeping with her wishes, there are no services planned at this time. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
Mrs. Aley was born April 8, 1933 in Rome, New York and grew up in West Monroe, New York(Dutch Hill). She married the love of her life at age 18 and they lived in various locations in New York and around the United States before moving to the Ozark area in 2004. Mrs. Aley was formerly employed with McMillan Book Company as a machine operator, worked in Syracuse, New York cleaning high rise office buildings, and owned and operated the Del Mar Motel in Canastota, NY. She also owned and operated a shop in Central Square, New York where she sold various fancy glass. Mrs. Aley was preceded in death by her sisters, Frances Wragg, Inez Kwietniak, her twin sister, Charlotte Wing and her brother, William Clark.
Surviving relatives include the love of her life and husband of sixty-eight years, Carl B. Aley, Dothan; her children, Lois A. Baisch (Kevin), Ozark, Carl Mark Aley (Karen), Bridgeport, NY, and Lynn M. Aley Howe, Ozark; two brothers, Robert Clark, Mexico, NY and Harold Clark, CA; eleven grandchildren, Kimberly Benjamin, Jennifer Andrus, Kelly Benjamin Hougaboom (Ryan), Kristin Aley, Michelle Aley, Ashton Clark (Kyle), Charles Baisch, George Howe, Charles Howe, Michael Howe, and Robert Howe; four great-grandchildren, Esme Hougaboom, Finnegan Hougaboom, Bennett Hougaboom, Zachary Clark, and Baby Clark on the way.
