Mrs. Sue Ann Hornsby Albright, age 84, a resident of Dothan, died Monday, May 9, 2016 at Flowers Hospital after an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at the Highland Park United Methodist Church with Rev. Clint McBroom officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Hill Cemetery with Kendall Glover directing.
The family will be receiving friends at Highland Park United Methodist Church on Wednesday from 1 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. prior to services. Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to Highland Park United Methodist Church,1619 South Park Ave., Dothan, AL. 36301.The family will be at the home of a granddaughter, Ashley McGee, 303 Hazelwood Dr. Dothan, AL. 36303.
Mrs. Albright was born on April 29, 1932 in Dothan and attended schools here, graduating at Dothan High. She married Carl “Pete” Albright in 1951 and lived in Marianna and Chipley, Florida for two years, returning to Dothan in 1953 and living the remainder of her life here in Dothan. She was blessed with three wonderful daughters, Susan, Teresa, and Robyn. She was employed at Sunnyland Company, Van Ritch Carpets and Gayfers where she had numerous friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Allen Hornsby and Zolena Branch Hornsby Davis; two brothers, Joseph Allen Hornsby III and Don Michael Hornsby; son-in-law, Hubert Byron “Sparky” Griffin, II.
Survivors include: husband and best friend of 65 years, Carl (Pete) Newton Albright, Dothan; three daughters, Susan Griffin Powell (Walter), Dothan; Teresa Albright Ide, Fort Myers, FL.; Robyn Albright Affan, Dothan; five grandchildren, Ashley McGee (Jason), Dothan; Carl Jamison (Jay) Bidro (Dorothy Valentine), Portland, OR.; Lauren Davis (Kevin), Athens, AL.; Brenyn Martin, Fairhope and Claudia Affan, Dothan; five great-grandchildren, Griffin & Grady McGee, Eli Alexander Bidro, Kaden & Blake Davis; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Hornsby; special nieces & nephews. She is also survived by two special sons-in-law, Jim Bidro and Sean Affan.
Pallbearers will be: Richard Saliba, Richard J. Saliba, Sean Affan, Jason McGee, Jay Bidro , Walter Powell, Samuel Alex Cherry III, Joseph Allen Hornsby IV and Don Michael Hornsby.
Glover Funeral Home of Dothan has been entrusted with the arrangements.
