Mrs. Sue Tucker of Dothan went home to be with the Lord Saturday, February 11, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She was 81.


Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Bobby Anderson and Reverend Mike Grimes officiating. There will be a private family graveside at Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.


The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 to 2 P.M. Wednesday, February 15, 2017, one hour prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to Breast Cancer Research.


Mrs. Tucker grew up playing the piano and was the pianist for Grandview Baptist Church and Selma Baptist Church for many years and also played for community events. She was the former leader of the Jolly Elders Group at Grandview Baptist Church.  She was well known for her humor. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is preceded in death by her parents Wade and Eunice Roper, brothers Wayne Roper, Stanley Roper, and nephew Dwaine Roper.


Survivors include her husband of 64 years Robert C. Tucker, Jr., daughters Cheryl Davenport and her husband Johnny, Pam Cox and her husband Randy, Robin Anderson and her husband Charles, sisters-in-law Jo Evelyn Roper, Pat Roper, grandchildren Shane Sellers(Brooke), Andy Anderson (Cynthia), Nathan Anderson, Alexandra Cox, and great-grandchildren Beau Sellers and Isabella Sellers.


The Tucker family had a special connection with the Kindred Hospice Employees and the family wants to express their deepest thank you for all of your love, care and support.
