Mrs. Susie Ann Norris Dunn of Samson, AL passed away on Monday, November 7, 2016. She was 77.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 10, 2016 in the Samson First United Methodist Church with Rev. Phil Craddock and Rev. Teresa Gilland officiating. Burial will follow in the Travelers Rest Cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday, beginning at 10:00 a.m. and continuing until service time.
Mrs. Dunn was born in Geneva County, AL on December 20, 1938 to the late William Theophilus and Ruby Lee Daughtry Norris. Mrs. Dunn worked for many years with the Samson Senior Citizens as well the Samson Library. She enjoyed cooking and sharing her food with those she loved. She enjoyed fishing as well as taking those morning walks with her walking buddies. Mrs. Susie was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, who faithful cared for her family especially her daughter and husband.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Wilburn Dunn of Samson, AL; daughter and son-in-law, Lynne Dunn Rand (Don) of Hoover, AL; son and daughter-in-law, Jamey Dunn (Tracey) of Dothan, AL; four grandchildren, Leah Elizabeth Rand and Olivia Grace Rand both of Hoover, AL, Zachary Wallace Nowell of Auburn, AL and Emma Grace Dunn of Dothan, AL; two sisters, Peggy Dozier (Dwayne) of Andalusia, AL and Faye Manning of Crestview, FL; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be, Eric Manning, Britt Caldwell, Jonathan Colvin, Mark Wise, Tom Davis and Chris Head.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be, Fred Head, Bob Caldwell, Randy Akridge, Sandy Hammer, Bennie Beckham, Jeff Baxter, Tommy Benton and DeWayne Dozier.
