DOTHAN…Mrs. Sylvia Heath Parrish, a resident of Dothan (formerly of Ozark), died late Monday evening, September 30, 2024, at her home. She was 89.


            Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, October 4, 2024, in the Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Mike Tindol officiating. A eulogy will be given by her son, Reverend David Parrish. Burial will follow in Westview Memorial Cemetery. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Friday at the funeral home.


            Mrs. Parrish, daughter of the late Charlie Morgan Heath and Neva Creel Heath, was a native of Ozark. She moved to Dothan following her retirement in the late 1990’s. Mrs. Parrish was a 1953 Graduate of Dale County High School in Ozark. She was employed with the Soil Conservation Office in Ozark and was retired as an Alfa Insurance Agent in the Daleville Office. Following retirement, she worked with Grandpa’s Attic in Dothan for several years. Mrs. Parrish loved the Lord, her family, and Alabama Football. She was preceded in death by her three brothers, Eugene Heath, Stanley Heath, and Gerald Heath; father of her children, Sammy Parrish.


            Surviving relatives include her three sons, Reverend David Parrish and his wife, Charlene, Thomasville, Georgia, Rickey Parrish, Ozark, and Michael Parrish, Dothan; three grandchildren, Morgan Parrish (Kyla), Amber Parrish, and Howell Batts (Wendy); two great-grandchildren, Grady Parrish and Helena Batts; nieces, nephews, and cousins.
