Mrs. Sylvia Louise Stewart Baldwin, a resident of Montgomery, passed away Tuesday morning, July 27, 2021, at her home.  She was 81 years old.


Funeral services for Mrs. Baldwin will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, July 30, 2021, from Peniel Baptist Church with Reverend Rusty Hutson and Reverend Jeff Dickey officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery, Holman Funeral Home and Cremations of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends in the church Friday from 9:30 A.M. until service time.


Mrs. Baldwin was born September 16, 1939 in Dothan, Alabama to the late James Thomas Stewart and Myrtle Louise Mizell Stewart. Her family moved to Skipperville when she was very young. She graduated from Carroll High School in 1958 and was in the Homecoming Court her senior year.  She attended LeTourneau College and was Homecoming Queen her freshman year. Mrs. Baldwin married Billy Woodham Baldwin in 1964 and this union was blessed with four beautiful children.  She became a preschool teacher at the First United Methodist Church in Montgomery and was a faithful member of Frazier United Methodist Church in Montgomery for over 50 years.   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-three years, Billy Woodham Baldwin; and her brother, George Phillip Stewart.


Survivors include three daughters, Amy M. Pritchett (Chris) of Tallassee, Alabama, Becky L. Hutson (Rusty) of Gulf Shores, Alabama, Claire L. Dickey (Jeff) of Pike Road, Alabama; one son, William Jeffrey Baldwin (Emmi) of Montgomery, Alabama; grandchildren, Lauren (Tyler) Lewis, Jacob Pritchett, Michael (Maggie) Hutson, Wesley (Kennedy) Hutson, Will Hutson, Bethany, Katie and Phillip Baldwin, Clayton and Arden Dickey;  one sister, Parnola Hucks of Georgia; three brothers, James Thomas Stewart, Jr. of Pensacola, Florida, Joe Paul Stewart (Gayle) of Enterprise, Alabama, and  Alfred Mizell Stewart of Skipperville, Alabama.


Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Peniel Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 2710 County Road 41, Skipperville, Alabama  36374.
