Obituary: Mrs. Tessie Lou Campbell


  


Mrs. Tessie Lou Campbell of Slocomb passed away Thursday, May 23, 2013 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center. She was 87.


 Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Slocomb with Rev. Scott Byrd officiating. Burial will follow in the Tabernacle Methodist Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 4 until 6:00 p.m. The family will be at the home of her daughter, Barbara Helms 441 First Street, Slocomb.


 Mrs. Campbell was born August 23, 1925 in Hartford, AL to the late Joseph Sephus and Rossie Mae Fuqua Sorrells. She was a member of The Church by the Way. 


In addition to her parents, her husband J.G. Campbell; son, Dirl Campbell; two daughters: Betty Joyce Adams and Martha Sue Davis Killingsworth all preceded her in death. 


Survivors include one daughter, Barbara Helms (Johnny Mack), Slocomb; two sons: Kenneth Campbell (Misty), Dothan and Paul Campbell (Janice), Hartford; two sisters: Alline Butler, Slocomb and Cloteal “Tee” Campbell, Slocomb; twenty one grandchildren; twenty seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews.
