Mrs. Thelma Louise Maloy of Samson passed away at Wiregrass Medical Center on June 24, 2012. She was 82. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with the Rev. Wesley Spivey officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Samson directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 26, 2012 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.
Mrs. Maloy was born in Covington County, Alabama on September 6, 1929 to the late William and Esther Odom Maloy. Mrs. Maloy loved her church, gardening and road riding, but most of all she dearly loved her children and grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Maloy is preceded in death by two brothers, Edward and Sam Maloy; one sister, Opal Johnson.
She is survived by one son, Bobby Joe Carr of Geneva; two daughters Wanda Greenwood (David) of Fresno, CA, and JoAnn Carr of Samson; six grandchildren, Ginger Greenwood, Joseph Greenwood both of Fresno, CA, Jennifer Reid (Chris) of Samson, Chris Carr(Robyn) of Enterprise, Joeseph Carr (Brandi) of Rockwall, TX, and Jessica Herzik (Shannon) of Bay City,TX; 8 great grandchildren; one sister, Annette Ward Hudson; sister-in-law, Mary Maloy and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to say thank you to, 1st Choice Hospice, the staff of the Intensive Care Unit and Emergency Room of Wiregrass Medical Center in Geneva, Dr. Childs and staff, and the Samson and Flat Creek Volunteer Rescue.
