Mrs. Thelma Whittington Fowler of Dothan, AL passed away Wednesday, June 16, 2021, at the age of 94.
Thelma was born in New Brockton, AL to the late Vander Whittington and Nona Byrd Whittington. She enjoyed fishing, sewing, going to church, and reading her Bible. She will be remembered for telling anyone who would listen about her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Thelma continued to be a loving and faithful wife to her late husband, William, 45 years after his passing. Her family will remember her as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Fowler; brothers, Virgil, Keller, David, and Howard; sisters, Elma, Susie, Hattie, Onyx, and Odessa.
Survivors include daughter, Carolyn Fowler; sons, Jerry Fowler (Renna) and Gerald Fowler (Brenda); grandchildren, Amanda Surratt (Eric), Misti Lee (Michael), Adam Fowler (Toni), Jesslyn Elliott (Clay), Clay Stewart, Bailyn Downing (Tyler); 6 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at West Side Terrace for 13 wonderful years spent caring for Mrs. Thelma.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 19, 2021, at 5 PM at Ward Wilson Funeral Home with Reverend Woody Farrington and Reverend Travis Free officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday one hour prior to the service.
