ARITON…Mrs. Traci Danford Himes, a resident of Ariton, died late Monday afternoon, September 13, 2021, in Troy Regional Medical Center. She was 50.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, September 17, 2021, in the Pleasant Ridge United Methodist Church with her brother, James Danford (Chaplain, Colonel, United States Air Force) and Reverend Greg Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Rocky Head Community. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
Traci was born May 18, 1971, and was a native of Ariton, where she was a 1989 Graduate of Ariton High School. She received an Associates in Applied Science from Enterprise State Junior College. Traci was formerly employed with the Ozark Wal Mart for over twenty-six years. She was currently employed with Troy University as a transcript specialist. Traci was a member of Pleasant Ridge United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by a brother, Josh Danford.
Surviving relatives include her husband, Robert Himes (Sergeant, United States Army, Retired), Ariton; daughter, Khaylee Himes Turner (Jordan), Enterprise; son, Zackary Himes (Anna Marsh), Ariton; parents, Bill and Linda Willoughby Danford, Ariton; brother, James Danford (Ch. Col., United States Air Force) and wife, Lynn, Bonaire, GA; three nephews, James Danford, Nicholas Danford, and Gus Danford; step-children, Crystal Lutz (Joshua), Havana, FL and Tarylyn Schmidt (Andrew), Bermerton, WA; five step-grandchildren, Saria Burge, Samuel Burge, Benjamin Burge, Brandon Kuhns, and Zane Townsend.
