Mrs. Vannie Lou Mercer of Gordon passed away Thursday, January 12, 2017. She was 75.
Funeral services will be held at 10 A.M. Saturday, January 14, 2017 at the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Union Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing. The family will be gathered at the home of her son Allen Mercer at 18181 Cottonwood Rd. Gordon, Al.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 P.M. Friday, January 13, 2017. Flowers will be accepted.
She is preceded in death by her parents David Holland and Dovie Kent Holland, sisters Shirley, Sarah, brothers David Alday, Talmadge Alday, Tommy Powell, and grandson Matthew Inge.
Survivors include children Sandra (Joe) McConnell of Holden, MO.; Susan Mercer of Pensacola, FL.; Robin Mercer of Cottonwood, AL.; son James Allen (Carolyn) Mercer, Jr. of Cottonwood, AL.; 1sister and 3 brothers, grandchildren Scott (Amy) McConnell, Amy (Steve) Adams, Bryan (Megan) McConnell, Daniel (Becky) Inge, Amanda Inge, Jessie (Michael) Smith, Kerri Quattlebaum, Misty Mercer, Rachel (Ty) Tyson, Derrick (Crystal) Hall, Brenton (Kayla) Hall, Logan King, Christopher Mathis, Leah Mathis, great-grandchildren Jayden McConnell, Ashlynn McConnell, Peyton McConnell, Trevor McConnell, James Adams, Marshall McConnell, Millie Ruth McConnell, Kyle Inge, Easton Inge, Colton Inge, Tanner Inge, Makenzie Smith, Blake Smith, Myleigh Smith, Journie Quattlebaum, Damion Quattlebaum, Dawson Deacon, Jorgia Tyson, Scarlet Tyson, Amy Hall, Trevor Hall, Macilee Hall, and great-great-grandchild Gemma McConnell (She is also the 5th Generation).
