OZARK… Mrs. Virginia Ann Forehand Skeen, a resident of Ozark, received her eternal reward, early Monday afternoon, July 11, 2022, at her home. She was 86.


            Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, July 15, 2022, in the Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Bill Mansfield officiating. Burial will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery in Enterprise. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.


            Mrs. Skeen, daughter of the late Earl Forehand and Mary Griffin Forehand, was a native of Indianapolis, Indiana. She lived in various locations while her husband served in the United States Army, before moving to Ozark in 1986. Mrs. Skeen attended Daleville Assembly of God Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Solomon L. Skeen, Jr. (Sergeant First Class, United States Army, Retired); a daughter, Linda Gibson; a son, Douglas Skeen; a grandson, Christopher Foerch; four sisters, Thelma Phelps, Juanita Forehand, Mary Hausafus, and Margie Smith; three brothers, Richard Forehand, Mikey Gardner and Joe Forehand.


            Surviving relatives include three daughters, Shirley Tharpe, Daleville, Martha Foerch (Ted Thomas), Ozark, and Jamie Mason (Donald), Panama City, Florida; two sons, Solomon Skeen (Belinda), Harker Heights, Texas and Steven Skeen (Marilyn), Enterprise; a sister, Bernice Niblack, Kentucky; twenty-two grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter; several nieces and nephews.


            Serving as active pallbearers will be Will Spicer, Kole Casey, Brody Skeen, Donald Leger, Jason Leger, and Gage Hatten.


            The family would like to thank Day Spring Hospice in Enterprise for their loving care and kindness shown to Mrs. Skeen and her family during her illness, especially to Roseanna and Melika.
