Virginia Lou Knowlton, a resident of Midland City, died Friday, November 11, 2016 at her residence. She was 81.


Memorial services will be held at 1 PM Sunday, November 13, 2016 at the family residence.


Mrs. Knowlton has been in Midland City for the past 10 years having moved here from Portville, NY. She worked at Bolivar IGA in the bakery and loved to spend time with her family cooking and baking. Mrs. Knowlton was also fond of crochet.


Mrs. Knowlton is preceded in death by her parents, Max and Ethel Crainer; daughter, Kathy Jo Smith and step-daughter ,Mollie Boswell; brother, William Crainer; daughter in law, Sandy Pinney Knowlton.


Survivors include her husband, Charles “Shorty” Knowlton; children, Charles Knowlton, III (Connie), Bolivar, NY, Linda Lowe (Terry), Midland City, Gary Knowlton (Bonnie), Allegany, NY, Dave Knowlton, Dothan, Sally Nutt (Kevin), Cuba, NY, Terri Rogers (Roy), Allegany, NY, Mary Vaughn (Walt), Little Genesee, NY, Beverly Drum (Scott), Freeville, NY,step-daughter, Lauretta Richardson (Coy), Elba, AL; over 80 grandchildren and great grandchildren.
