Obituary: Mrs. Vivian P. Carnley White
Mrs. Vivian P. Carnley White of Samson passed away Saturday, July 25, 2015 at her home. She was 84.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 in Lime Springs United Methodist Church with Rev. Charles Myers and Rev. John Wesley Spivey officiating. Burial will follow in the Piney Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Geneva directing. Mrs. White will be placed in the church one hour prior to service time.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.
Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made in Mrs. White’s memory to Lime Springs United Methodist Church, 145 South State Hwy 153 Samson, AL 36477.
Mrs. White was born July 29, 1930 in Coffee County to the late David C. and Pearlie Catrett Carnley. She greatly enjoyed working with ceramics, was an excellent cook and possessed a passion for music. As a dedicated Christian, Mrs. White loved the Lord wholeheartedly and was a member of Lime Springs United Methodist Church. She was a caring mother and adoring grandmother who will be dearly missed.
In addition to her parents, a son, Danney Gene White; twin grandsons, Mark and Marcus Daniels; four sisters: Eunice Davis, Annie Merle Carnley, Annie Glen Nelson and Pearl Miller; four brothers: Steve, Jessie, Edlow and Cecil Carnley all preceded her in death.
Survivors include her six children: Sue Ann Fisher (William), Hastings, FL, Gertrude Daniels, Samson, Jerry White (Linda), Wilsonville, Terry "Larry" White (Christine), Kinston, Carolyn McCollough (Mike), Samson and Taylor Ray White, Samson; one sister, Betty Carnley, Samson; fifteen grandchildren; thirty-seven great grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; other extended family and friends.
