   It is with great sadness that the family of Mrs. Wanda Lee Hampton Wells, of Slocomb, Alabama, announce her passing on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at the age of 72.


   A memorial service for Mrs. Wells will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, October 9, 2024, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.


   Wanda was born on February 25, 1952 in in Muscogee County, Georgia to the late Jay Hampton and Laura Lee Hampton. Wanda met the love of her life and beloved husband, Harvey Wells, Jr. of 27 years. One of Wanda’s great passions was fishing. Her and her husband spent many afternoons on a creek bank enjoying the fishing and each other’s company (and the occasional good-natured arguments about who was catching more fish). Wanda was also an avid Alabama fan and enjoyed painting projects. But above all, Wanda loved and enjoyed her family deeply and especially enjoyed time with her great granddaughter, Jade Afreya North.


   She is preceded in death by her parents and her beloved grandson Austin Howell.


   She is survived by her husband, Harvey Wells, Jr., son, Lee Floyd and daughter, Jennifer ((Mike) Segers, Jeff (Carol) Wells, Lisa Suggs, Jody Wells, grandchildren, Ashley Howell and Stone Howell. Many other grandchildren, great grandchildren, siblings, numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society, 3054 McGehee Road, Montgomery, Alabama 36111.
