DOTHAN…Mrs. Wanda Snell Wright, a resident of Dothan, died early Sunday evening, June 4, 2023, at her home. She was 72.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 7, 2023, in the Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Bill Ferguson officiating. Burial will follow in Brown’s Church Cemetery in Echo. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Wright, daughter of the late Horace Edgar Snell and Ruby Estelle Spivey Snell, was a native of the Brown’s Church Community, near Echo. She was a 1969 Graduate of Carroll High School and moved to Dothan in 1975. Mrs. Wright was a member of Brown’s Church where she taught Sunday school and was church treasurer for many years. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Jean Snell Griggs and Leota Miller; two brothers, Mike Snell and Horace Snell, Jr.
Surviving relatives include her husband, Larry Wright, Dothan; two daughters, Jennifer Vega, Avon Community, near Dothan and Lisa Woodham, Dothan; a son, Larry Joseph Wright (Tamara), Dothan; five sisters, Melba Cox (Hal), Ozark, Delane Blackburn, Ozark, Martha Burroughs, Ohio, Betty Cochran, Echo Community, and June Smith, Troy; her sister-in-law, Vicki Snell, Ozark; three grandchildren, William Jordan Wright (Courtney), Ashley Peters (Danny) and Heather Milloy (Anna); four great-grandchildren, Preston Wright, Carson Wright, Layla Peters and Lainey Peters; her two fur babies, Harley and Missy; nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Jordan Wright, Jeff Cochran, Sean Smith, John Blackburn, James Blackburn, and Ted Blackburn.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Enhabit Hospice, especially Jesslyn and Ty, for their loving care and kindness shown to Mrs. Wright and her family.
