On October 19, 2021, Winnell Hays Peacock passed away at the age of 81 after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s.


A graveside service for Mrs. Peacock will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday, October 24. 2021, from Southside Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Kenneth Andrews officiating. Interment will follow, Holman Funeral Home and Cremations of Ozark directing.


Winnell was born on May 10, 1940, in Banks, Al. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin in 2016 after 58 years of  marriage.  Winnell is survived by her three sons Allen (Audrey), Mark (Jennifer) and David (Cyndi); deceased daughter-in-law, Cindy; granddaughters, Rachel (Jay) Tibbs and Emily (Adam) Willis; grandson, Luke Peacock; great granddaughter, Raylee Hannah Tibbs.  Melvin and Winnell lived most of their life in Ozark, AL until moving to Moulton, Al in 2007 to be close to family. Winnell was born into a large loving family having 7 brothers, Huey (Faye), Fred (Helen), Edward (Bonnie), Wyman (Marie), Lamar (Dorothy), Marvin (Bernice) Morris (lily) and 3 sisters, Jessie, Ruth (Horace), and Ruby (Eugene). Ruby is her only surviving sibling. She was also blessed with three sisters-in-law and their husbands, Janice (Eugene) McFadden, Elvie (Nick) Nicholson and Rene (Jerry) Green.


In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Winnell’s name to the Alzheimer’s Research Foundation, P.O. Box 1170, Dothan, AL  36302.
