Obituary: Mrs. Zeta Pate Spooner Hazeltine
Mrs. Zeta Pate Spooner Hazeltine of Newton passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at the home of her granddaughter in Mobile. She was 85.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 28, at Pilgrim Home Baptist Church with Rev. John Cameron and Rev. Buddy Hood officiating and Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing. Interment will follow on Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in the Mt. Gilead Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society: 2246 Montgomery Hwy. Dothan, AL 36303.
The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 12:30 p.m. and will continue until service time.
Mrs. Hazeltine was born in 1926 on Christmas Day in Wicksburg, AL to the late Bert and Sallie Albritton Pate. She was a member of Pilgrim Home Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, one daughter, Linda Sharitt; one son, Jerry Spooner; husbands: Louie W. Spooner and Carl Hazeltine; and one sister, Blanche Parrish all preceded her in death.
Survivors include one son, John David Spooner of Defuniak Springs, FL; nine grandchildren: Lee Sharitt Bailey (Allan), Kelli Sharitt, Stephen Sharitt, Jennifer Sharitt Velo (Gilbert), Sallie Sharitt Gaines (Arlan), Carrie Spooner Kaoui (Michael), Jahaza Spooner Duncan, Jeremiah Spooner (Tiffany) and Jarah Leah Spooner; numerous beloved great grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, Kay Spooner; one son-in-law, John Sharitt of Mobile; one sister, Miriam Hubbard of Newton; and a host of other family and friends.
