Obituary: Mrs. Jamalyn Cox Smith
Mrs. Jamalyn Cox Smith, passed away, April 2, 2017 at Big Bend Hospice in Tallahassee, FL surrounded by family after a long battle with cancer. She was 38.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. (CST) on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at Fadette Pentecostal Ministries (5161 AL-103, Slocomb, AL) with Rev. Johnny Strickland officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Slocomb directing.
The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday beginning at 1:00 p.m. (CST) and continuing until service time.
Jamalyn
was born January 9, 1979 in Port St. Joe, FL to
James Cox Jr. and the late Tammy Kay Gay. She was a graduate of
Wakulla High School in Crawfordville, FL.
She is preceded in death by her Great-Grandfather, James A. Cox, Sr., of Smith Creek, FL and Grandmother Broncile Knoling, of Port St. Joe, FL.
She is survived by her devoted and loving husband, David O’Neal Smith of Fadette, AL; father, James A. Cox, Jr. (Lori Langston Cox) of Smith Creek, FL; her two sons: Gage Hevener and Hunter Hevener both of Tallahassee, FL.; daughter , MacKenzie Raeanne Smith of Fadette, AL; grandmother, Genevieve Harvell Cox of Smith Creek, FL; sister Amanda Gay Perdue (Shane) of Southport, FL; father-in-law and mother-in-law, David E. and Patsy Smith of Fadette, AL; uncle Blane Cox (Lisa) of Smith Creek, FL; cousins: Chase Cox, of Cincinnati, Ohio and Cory Cox, of Tampa, FL.
