O HAPPY DAY! June 17, 2023, Betty Jane Pettis Langston went to her heavenly home and is rejoicing with Jesus and the angels around the throne!


Funeral services for Betty will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at Watermark Church with Todd Thorpe officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt of Olives cemetery in Cottonwood, Alabama. The family will receive friends at the church from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM prior to the service. The family will be meeting at the Miller home in Ashford, Alabama.


Betty was born April 3, 1945, and lived in Blackwoods Community.  She was a member of the first graduating class of Dale County High School in 1963.  She worked in civil service at Ft. Rucker for 29 years then transitioned to SpectraCare until she retired, making many lifelong friends.


Betty was a faithful member of Watermark Church and the Jan Palmer Ladies Class.  She so loved her ladies and attending the Loop.  Oh, the stories…


Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Lela and Daniel Pettis; two sisters, Murline Conner and Ila Mae Pettis (infant). 


She is survived by her daughter, Katie Langston Miller and her husband, Chuck; granddaughter, Elizabeth Miller; sister, Faye Brown and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She loved her family and will always be their loving Mama, Nana, sister, and friend.


Serving as pallbearers will be; Jeff Ethridge, Shannon Hatcher, Jesse Hatcher, Joe Thompson, Glenn and Richard Meadows; Jan Palmer’s Ladies Sunday School class and the 1963 Dale County High School graduates.
